Hello, I’m
Liliya Spencer
Product Design Lead · Singapore
For more than ten years I’ve designed for people, whether it’s a tenant’s employees getting through the office turnstile, a policyholder filing a claim, or a shopper or hotel guest cashing in the rewards they’ve earned. The test has been the same: does it work for the person using it, in the moment they need it?
- Led design on an award winner SBR Technology Excellence Awards, 2023

Brands I’ve designed for
Products people actually use
Enterprise product for real estate, insurance and consumer brands. Machine-learning research in healthcare. Loyalty programmes for luxury hotels, from print to front-end.
CapitaLand@Work
The first launch of CapitaLand’s workplace platform – building access, visitor passes and six admin roles, from the tender win through to launch.
CapitaStar@Work
The next chapter of CapitaLand@Work, merged with the CapitaStar retail rewards app. I led the UX/UI team, and it won its category at the 2023 SBR Technology Excellence Awards.
Omne by FWD
FWD’s insurance and wellbeing app for nine Asian markets. I designed across the insurance and investment segments and led the Corporate Wellness programme.
SK-II Olympic dashboard
A campaign dashboard for SK-II’s internal teams, holding an eighteen-month Olympic push across a dozen markets and as many platforms.
Pneumonia diagnosis
A convolutional network reading paediatric chest X-rays – 0.97 sensitivity, 0.97 AUC, across 5,863 images.
Dementia diagnosis
Seven models stacked into two ensembles on health and lifestyle data – and what a perfect score actually tells you.
Gourmet Collection
IHG’s dining club across Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia – one collateral system and app for around twenty hotels.
South Beach Lifestyle
The loyalty programme of JW Marriott Singapore South Beach – eight restaurants and bars, a spa, and the card that opens all of them.
destinationclub
Wine, dine, stay – one lifestyle card shared by two riverside hotels in Bangkok, across fifteen award-winning venues.
Kempinski Lifestyle
The membership package for Kempinski Hotel Suzhou – branding, tiered cards and the club’s website, in English and Chinese.
Signature Dining, Sydney
IHG’s dining membership for two InterContinental hotels – one shared website, two sets of collateral, and the campaigns behind both.
Signature Dining, Japan
The same IHG membership across four Japanese hotels – ANA Crowne Plaza Sapporo, Osaka and Chitose, and InterContinental Osaka.
Sip and Indulge
W Singapore Sentosa Cove’s members’ club – collateral and campaigns for a brand that is the opposite of restrained.
The Astor Card
The St. Regis Bangkok’s members’ club – collateral system, members’ website and the email campaigns behind its restaurants and spa.
Supper Club
The St. Regis Singapore’s private membership – dining across the hotel’s restaurants and bars and Remède Spa, with the mobile app, brand, website and campaigns behind it.
Special Inclusion
Brand, website and marketing for a Singapore centre supporting children with special needs – volunteer work I make time for alongside everything else.
Small projects
Freelance websites, a CMS, dashboards, the MYairports app, social campaigns, a winning tender document and illustration – the smaller pieces, kept for range.
ARTÉ booth
A three-metre event booth for a Singapore pickleball brand – merchandising, lighting and a spec a fabricator can build from.
Furniture design
Custom joinery for GVARNERI – customer consultation, 3D renders, and dimensioned drawings for the workshop.
Six things I’m relied on for
From the first stakeholder workshop to the screen nobody has to think twice about.
-
#01
Design leadership
Leading design and research teams, running stakeholder workshops, reviewing work against a standard we’ve agreed, mentoring junior designers, and running the ideation sessions that push a product past its brief.
-
#02
Product design
User flows, wireframes, prototypes and shipped interfaces – for products with real operational constraints behind them.
-
#03
Design systems
Colour, typography, icons, components, grid, accessibility and the documentation that keeps consistency from becoming a review problem.
-
#04
Brand & identity
Identities built from a single idea – a Penrose triangle for a therapy centre, an engraved peony for a Kempinski club – carried through the logo, colour, type and every piece a customer holds.
-
#05
Front-end build
Designs I can build myself – responsive websites, members’ portals and hand-coded email in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Knowing what the code will cost keeps the design buildable.
-
#06
AI & machine learning
A degree in AI and data analysis, and models I’ve built end to end, so I know what AI can do and where it breaks. In design work I use it as a tool – for research, prototyping and build, including this site, which I made with Claude Code.
The work I’m least likely to be asked about
For two years I designed and taught studio classes for students with special needs at Genesis School and Mountbatten Vocational Centre – building the curriculum, adapting it for very different ways of learning, and standing at the front of the room.
It taught me more about interface design than any conference has. When you cannot rely on a shared vocabulary, on reading speed, or on a second attempt, you find out quickly which parts of a design were ever really doing the work.
It is also why I trained as a certified ADHD coach. Attention is now the scarcest thing most users bring to a screen – not only people with ADHD, but anyone on a phone, mid-task, being interrupted. The strategies that help a coaching client start a task and finish it are the same ones a good interface relies on: one clear next step, less to hold in memory, and progress you can see.
Things I do anyway
I host Eagle or Tails, a podcast about founders and the businesses they build, made under Cleventh – my own social media consultancy. It is deliberately not a design studio, so it never competes with an employer for design work.
I mention it up front because I’d rather be hired by people who already know. The podcast is where most of my interviewing, editing and writing practice happens, and all three come straight back into research. Coaching and mentoring are things I’ll keep doing wherever I work.
Tell me what you’re building.
I’m looking for a senior or lead product design role where design owns something: the research behind it, the system underneath it, and the people doing the work. Based in Singapore, permanent resident – no visa needed.
